The Licensing Process

FII's business plan is to have appropriate entities manufacturing BioHavens under license in strategic locations around the world. FII would effectively lease its Intellectual Property to the licensee, in return for royalties on all sales. The cost of a license would include a one-off downstroke, in addition to ongoing royalties. The dollar amounts and rates vary according to geographic location.

License holders are autonomous businesses, operating independently, though in a loose confederation, which might (or might not) share innovations, bulk purchasing power, marketing etc.. Each license carries with it production and sales targets.

Typically, a license will cover an agreed territory, though situations where a single, discrete market is licensed can be envisaged.
